Heart Thoughts: Ishmael and Isaac, Millionaires

There is always something to be grateful for and people to appreciate in our life. I am grateful for those of you who I get to interact with each week that help make our Sundays happen… Deana, Christine, and Scott. Then, of course, Bill Taylor and Nancy Burnette for making the delicious coffee, and Nancy Sawyer for doing the clean up after coffee hour.

I want to bring your attention to a workshop that will happen after the service this Sunday. It is a workshop on Feng Shui presented by Steph Plourde. I am really excited about this as I am in the process of redecorating my office here at church. I want to learn how to create the highest energy that I can by practicing some of the Feng Shui principles. The workshop begins at 11:45. Bring a snack to have before the class begins.

We are moving right along with the Million Dollar Spring series, based on the book The Millionaires of Genesis by Catherine Ponder. This past Sunday the focus was on Ishmael and Isaac, sons of Abraham and Hagar and Sarah. The sons were so different… Ishmael was wild, rebellious, and full of conflict. Metaphysically his name means “whom God understands.” While Isaac was a man of peace, a gentleman, refined. His name metaphysically means “joy and laughter.”

The message these two brothers have for us is: No matter what your situation may be, no matter what wilderness experience you may be going through, by blessing it, not resisting it, you can bring forth the inner wellspring of peace and name it good. And the overcoming power within us is infinite, limitless, and greater than anything we are going through.

If you missed the service, you can watch it here.

Hear about the meaning of wells and how important they were to the ancient Hebrews. And oh, by the way, the Islamic faith began with Ishmael. Up until he came along, the Hebrews and the Islamic people shared the same faith.

Here are three affirmations for you to strengthen your millionaire consciousness:

• I baptize every situation in my life a success!
• I am peaceful in all circumstances!
• I experience the prospering power of agreement, and I rejoice!

Next week we leave Genesis long enough to learn about Ruth… yes, from the book of Ruth.

Have a blessed week and know that you are loved!

You are a blessing in my life,
Rev. Patricia Bessey
