Welcome to Unity Center for Spiritual Growth! We would love to have you come and celebrate a deeper walk in God with us. We are a loving community that celebrates together our love of God, of each other, and all of life. Many who have come here for the first time commonly express, with a sense of awe and gratitude, “I feel like I’ve come home.”

You may know about Unity from the Daily Word, our daily devotional that brings comfort and insight to millions of people around the world, or from Silent Unity, our worldwide prayer ministry.

Unity is a non-denominational Christ-based community and, as its name implies, welcomes and cherishes all people. Our greeting to each other is “Namaste,” meaning “I behold the Light in You.”

Unity Center for Spiritual Growth is a spiritual community founded in 1937 to provide Unity teachings and resources in the greater Portland area and surrounding communities.

Many of us have had our lives truly transformed by living the Unity teachings. Many of us have found in Unity the acceptance, the inspiration and the loving support that has helped us become empowered in the midst of life’s challenges. We no longer see ourselves as helpless victims, tossed about in the sea of life’s events. We are awakening to the truth of ourselves as wise and loving expressions of God. It is our intention to fully realize that we are, as Dr. Wayne Dyer says, “spiritual beings having a human experience” – not the other way around! We welcome anyone who wants to know the peace and joy of oneness with the Creator, and to know one’s own true spiritual essence and purpose.

If you like the books and presentations by Dr. Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, and Esther and Jerry Hicks, you’ll feel right at home in Unity. Their ideas are very similar to our teaching, which is based on our understanding of the message of Jesus Christ, metaphysical interpretation of the Bible, and the continuing revelation of the Holy Spirit.

Since our founding in 1889, Unity has always said that we do not teach anything new; rather, we have found truth in many sources and combined what we understand to be the best of the best wisdom and knowledge. That tradition continues today.
