At 10:58 today, June 21, summer began. It is the summer solstice, and it is the longest day of sunlight hours. Along with summer comes vacations, outdoor gatherings, trips to the beach. When the women’s group had its first meeting there was an overwhelming desire to do some fun activities together. On Sunday I had a conversation with Todd Glacy, and we discussed having some events with both women and men. If you have an idea you would like to propose, let me know. Stay tuned also as Todd has an idea percolating.
In this same vein, please come to the Fifth Friday Open Mic. Bring friends. It will be a wonderful time of fun and community. Mark your calendar for July 14 for Kirtan. For those who may not know what happens at Kirtan: It is rooted in the Vedic anukirtana tradition and is a call-and-response style of song or chant, set to music. Once again, a perfect event to bring a friend you have been wanting to introduce to Unity.
We are about to conclude the series I have been doing from the book It’s Not Your Money. This past Sunday’s talk was titled No, You’re Not Crazy, You’re Being Tested! And do I believe we are being tested… yes, but not by God, but by how we use our free will.
