Heart Thoughts: Two Steps to Healing

I’m so thrilled you got to experience Rev. Kelly Isola on Sunday and again on Tuesday evening! She’s been with me for a week, and it’s felt like a mini-vacation. We’ve done so many fun things, enjoyed amazing food (including a lobster dinner and ice cream!), and had some truly wonderful conversations. If you missed the service, you can watch it here.

I also want to give a shoutout to the amazing work on the labyrinth restoration. A huge thanks to Cali Crowley and Barbara Kowalska for their dedication. On Saturday, with the help of Janice Murphy and Jim Staebler, we made more progress. They planted a row of 25 arborvitaes as a sound barrier, and as part of our new makeover, you can honor or remember a loved one by sponsoring a bush for $40. Your donation will help fund the next set of arborvitaes that will go up on the River Road side of the property.

Rev. Kelly Isola

Kelly’s talk “Step, Step, Heal” was a wonderful teaching and a deeper understanding of Myrtle Fillmore, co-founder of Unity. First Kelly shares an answer to a letter that Myrtle received. In the letter the writer is asking for prayers, which, by the way, Myrtle calls “Spiritual Mind Treatments,” and she reminds the writer that it is important for them to join in the process by studying truth principles and joining them in daily prayer. She goes on to say there are no results without the faith and cooperation with those who work with us. She goes on to say it isn’t so important if you experience relief or results… what Myrtle is most concerned with is their growth in consciousness and that makes the results abiding. Again, a call to action.

She later refers to the two-step healing practice. First is to Believe… the question then asked is do you believe in process or outcome. Both are required; however, the process determines the outcome. The second step is to be open and receptive to the stream of healing life. What does this mean… it means to be open to everything… your joys and your sufferings are what make up your wholeness. Kelly says: What has happened to you that you wished it hadn’t… pain, discomfort, grief, loss… most annoying people… they are your master teachers…they call us to look at our stuff… I’ve forgotten my divine nature… everything is for me… it just is… I get to learn and discern from it all.

Thank you, Kelly!

Next week join me for Words to Prosper By!

Know that you are so very loved and appreciated.

You are a blessing in my life,
Rev. Patricia Bessey
