Last Sunday marked our potluck gathering, and it was truly heartening to enter Fellowship Hall and witness every table abuzz with lively conversations and people connecting. It’s in moments like these that true community blossoms. The act of sharing a meal goes beyond the confines of the sanctuary service, fostering open discussions, laughter, and the establishment of relationships. In this informal setting, a profound sense of belonging is nurtured, strengthening emotional ties within the community and laying the foundation for a supportive network among our folks.
Explore other opportunities to strengthen connections and foster a supportive community through our Unity Men’s Group, which convenes in person on the first Tuesday of each month at Unity, led by Todd Glacy. Additionally, join the Unity Women’s Adventure Group for their online meeting on the second Thursday of the month, including the upcoming session on February 8 at 4 p.m. This week’s online gathering will feature Elizabeth Peterson providing a preview of what she terms a “Blessing Circle.” This special offering will be available on Sundays, specifically on February 11, 18, and 25, following the Sunday services.

We are moving along with the Sunday series based on the book Supercharged Self-Healing by RJ Spina. This week was Access the Magic of Our Imagination. If you have been following me and this series, you know we are talking about our beliefs and assumptions. While putting the talk together I happened onto a Facebook video by Dr. Rod Chelberg, and he pointed out that in the middle of the word belief is the word lie.
RJ says that our belief-based ego identity is wanting and therefore is incompleteness – it is disharmony itself… therefore can only produce disharmonious thought patterns, which are the source of our health problems, which when traced back comes from disharmonious thought patterns.
So, it stands to reason that the source of our health issues -belief-based thinking- cannot fix our ill health.
Quote from RJ: The power to heal is within you. It is YOU literally. Directly accessing the SELF is the first step on your healing journey and a quality of life.
Quote from RJ: “Instead of misidentifying with victimhood or waiting for something or someone to heal us, let’s embrace our collective graduation into evolutionary adulthood. Empower yourself by taking full responsibility for enhancing the quality of your inner life.”
When we cease to misidentify with our imbalances, they will cease to have power over us. Our individual and collective consciousness is then raised in frequency, vibration, and awareness.
This is enough to chew on this week…if you missed the service, you could watch it here.
Join me next week as we continue the journey to awareness… as we examine the four directions of consciousness.
Know that you are so very loved and appreciated.
You are a blessing in my life,
Rev. Patricia Bessey
