Another week has flown by, and here I am at the computer writing to you once again. As I sit here, I’m watching the snow fall — yes, snow — in the very season we call Spring.
Speaking of Spring, I want to touch on the beautiful Spring Equinox activation many of us experienced last Friday night with Vanessa Gates-Elston. I can only speak from my own experience, but Vanessa has a remarkable ability to transport me beyond the here and now into a deeper, quieter realm of Spirit.
If you’ve never experienced her mastery, you’re in luck. She’s offering a three-part class beginning this Thursday evening, and there’s still time to register. The class will be held on Zoom, and you’ll receive recordings of the sessions you register for, so I encourage you to sign up for all three, even if you can’t attend one live.
This past Sunday, we explored The Jesus Who Confronts Without Condemning — a Jesus who meets people with truth, but never with shame. We looked at how he engages the rich young ruler with deep love before offering a hard truth, how he meets Zacchaeus with simple presence rather than correction, and how he calls the first disciples with invitation rather than expectation. Again and again, Jesus shows us that transformation begins not with judgment, but with compassion, connection, and trust in our inherent goodness. His way reminds us that spiritual growth is never forced — it’s awakened.
This Week’s Practice: One Micro Repair
Just one.
Make one small repair with someone in your life:
a missed text
- a tone you didn’t mean
- a moment of distraction
- a small hurt
And when you apologize — no qualifiers.
- Not “I’m sorry, but…”
- Not “I was tired…”
- Not “I didn’t mean to, but you…”
Just:
“I’m sorry for ______.
I care about our connection.”
One micro repair can change the entire atmosphere of a relationship.
Jesus, as our teacher and wayshower, models a kind of truth‑telling that is always rooted in love. He reveals the truth of who we are and refuses to let us remain confined by the smaller stories we create about ourselves. He meets people with clear eyes and an open heart, honors their dignity, and gently names whatever blocks the flow of love so that love can move freely again.
Invitation to Next Week’s Talk
Next Sunday, we cross a quiet threshold together as we enter Week 6: From Hosannas to Holy Disruption. Palm Sunday invites us into a tender paradox — the joy of welcome and the courage of truth. We follow Jesus as he rides into Jerusalem not seeking applause but listening for the deeper call of his own soul. This is the turning point where admiration becomes alignment, where the heart learns to walk with integrity even when the crowd shifts its song.
We will also share in a simple Palm Walk, stepping gently across the palms laid before us — a symbolic path from the familiar into the yet‑to‑be‑revealed. I hope you’ll join us for this sacred passage into Holy Week, where love grows brave and the journey deepens.
May this year invite us into deeper awareness, expanded possibility, and the joyful knowing that as we live our light, we bless the world. Together, we affirm there is always more good seeking expression through us, and it begins right here.
