A lot of good things happened this past week at Unity. On Saturday, the Board of Trustees honored our volunteers with a sacred service brunch. The food was scrumptious and lovingly prepared by our chef extraordinaire, Scott Mazer, with sides generously provided by members of the board.
We truly could not do the things we do without the help of our amazing volunteers. They are woven into the very fabric of Unity Center for Spiritual Growth, and we are deeply grateful for their willingness to serve with open hearts.
This coming Sunday is Easter, and in the spirit of community and yes, food, we will be sharing an Easter dinner following the service. Ham will be provided, and you’re invited to bring whatever side dish feels right to you. While this is normally our birthday potluck, we will still joyfully celebrate birthdays as we gather around the table for good conversation and connection. All are welcome who feel called to join us.
Preparing for Easter: A Unity Perspective
In Unity, Easter is more than a single holy day; it is a spiritual practice. It invites us to notice where something new is ready to rise within us. Resurrection is not about perfection, or erasing the past; it is about renewal, awakening, and choosing life again.
As Easter approaches, you might gently ask yourself:
- What within me is ready to be released?
- Where is new energy, hope, or clarity beginning to emerge?
- What love, compassion, or courage is asking to come alive now?
Easter reminds us that transformation often follows periods of waiting, uncertainty, and letting go. Each of us is invited to participate in that process not once a year, but again and again by being willing to rise into a fuller expression of who we truly are.
As we gather this Sunday, may we come not only with dishes to share, but with hearts open to renewal, ready to recognize the life that is continually unfolding in us and through us.
May this year invite us into deeper awareness, expanded possibility, and the joyful knowing that as we live our light, we bless the world. Together, we affirm there is always more good seeking expression through us, and it begins right here.
