Whether or not you follow astrology, Mercury is currently in retrograde — and I’m definitely feeling its effects! But before I share more about that, I’m still basking in the energy from Sunday’s service. It was truly a powerful experience as we welcomed five new members into our community: Mercer Bonney, Christina Curit, Cathy Fletcher, Carol Sterling, and Kelly Weisslender. What a joy to expand our spiritual family!
A heartfelt thank you also goes out to Vanessa Gates-Elston for the meaningful and transformative evening she created on Friday during the Mayan Day Out. Her guided meditation offered deep insights and beautiful experiences for all who attended.
There’s so much more happening here at Unity Center for Spiritual Growth — I encourage you to explore all the upcoming events. And here’s a little nudge: Consider inviting someone you’d love to introduce to Unity. What better way than through a shared experience at one of our gatherings?
Now, back to Mercury in retrograde… my cell phone has developed a glitch and I’m currently unable to send text messages. It feels like my hands have been tied, as texting is my primary way of staying connected. I’ve spent hours trying to resolve it, but in the meantime, please use the church phone number to text me: 207-893-1233.
Cultivating the Inner Shift — Series Wrap-Up:
This past Sunday, we concluded our transformative series, Cultivating the Inner Shift. Over the past several weeks, we’ve explored how inner alignment opens the door to outer abundance, spiritual clarity, and deeper connection.
Our final message, The Currency of Connection: Love as Wealth, invited us to recognize love as our greatest form of prosperity — a currency that multiplies as we give it away.
Highlights from the Message
• Love is the true currency of life. Our deepest wealth is found not in possessions, but in the sacred relationships we nurture with one another and with the Divine.
• The story of Ruth and Naomi reminds us that love, loyalty, and spiritual devotion are powerful forces of transformation. Their journey from grief to legacy reveals how divine abundance flows through connection.
• Prosperity is circulation, not accumulation. Like the flow of breath or blood, love must move through us to sustain spiritual vitality.
• Sacred relationships are spiritual capital. Every act of compassion, presence, and authenticity is a deposit into the wealth of the world.
• Community is the field where love multiplies. Your presence, your love, and your willingness to connect contribute to the collective abundance we share.
Practice to Carry Forward: Think of someone who has been a source of love in your life. Hold them in your heart and silently bless them: “Divine love flows between us. I am grateful for the wealth of our connection. May it continue to bless the world.”
Join me this coming Sunday as we start a new series: The Soul’s Compass: Navigating Life with Spiritual Wisdom. Here is a brief description: In a world of constant change and uncertainty, how do we stay centered, clear, and spiritually grounded? Week 1 is The Inner Guide: Trusting the Voice Within.
I’m deeply grateful for each of you taking the time to read this. You truly are special!
You are a blessing in my life,
Rev. Patricia Bessey
