Heart Thoughts: Gratitude, Generosity & Divine Flow

My heart is overflowing with gratitude as I think back to Sunday in the Fellowship Hall, every table and chair filled with laughter, conversation, and the joy of sharing an early Thanksgiving meal together. Our amazing chef, Scott Mazer, outdid himself with two incredible turkeys, one perfectly roasted and the other smoked to perfection. By the end of the meal, all that remained were bones and a little broth!

The side dishes were just as delightful traditional favorites like squash, potatoes, stuffing, and green bean casserole, plus a delicious corn casserole that everyone loved. And then came the dessert table — a feast for the eyes and the taste buds, overflowing with pies, brownies, and sweet treats, topped off with real whipped cream.

From where I sat, it was pure joy to see everyone visiting, laughing, and savoring the blessing of community.

A heartfelt thank you to Nancy Burnette and Nancy Sawyer for coordinating the set-up and clean-up, and to all who pitched in to make this gathering so special. You are the heart of this community!

Harvest of the Soul: Gratitude, Generosity, and Divine Flow

Affirmation: “I celebrate the harvest of Spirit in my life. I am grateful, generous, and richly blessed.”

As we stand at the threshold of Thanksgiving and Advent, we pause to celebrate the spiritual harvest we’ve cultivated and prepare to carry its blessings forward.

When we think of harvest, we picture fields ripe with grain and gardens bursting with color. Yet the richest harvest is the one within —the harvest of the soul. This inner abundance grows through gratitude, which opens our hearts to life’s blessings; generosity, which allows those blessings to overflow to others; and Divine Flow, the grace that moves through us when we live in harmony with Spirit.

As we enter this sacred season, let us give thanks for all we have received, share freely from our hearts, and trust the infinite goodness that guides our way.

Practice: Pause today to name one blessing you’ve harvested this year and one way you will sow generosity in the weeks ahead.

One beautiful way to sow generosity is by participating in Giving Tuesday on December 2. Our goal is $15,000, and every gift helps us continue to share hope, love, and spiritual support. Together, we can make this harvest season overflow with goodness! Give now or mark your calendar for December 2.

You are a blessing in my life,

Rev. Patricia Bessey
