Heart Thoughts: Finding the Dream

I am buzzing with excitement from our Annual Meeting on Sunday! It was amazing to see so many of you there and the ideas and comments we shared really brought us together. A big shoutout to Sue Vittner and Betti Lu Lewis, who are starting new three-year terms on the board, and to Janice Murphy and Jim Staebler, our alternates for a one-year term.

Although the Annual Meeting covers much that has happened over the year for programs, events, and other important news, there is a focus on the financial state of the ministry as we close the year. This year was different. We noted a $7,500 deficit; however, rather than dwelling on the numbers, we focused on creative ideas and positive steps forward. It was a refreshing change from just looking at the Profit and Loss statement and questioning the figures.

What did get some discussion was the “General Fund,” which some did not have clarity as to what it entailed. In thinking about it a better title would be “Operating Fund.” This is the main account that keeps the ministry running smoothly day-to-day. It covers essential expenses like utilities, salaries, program costs, and maintenance. Think of it as the foundation of our financial structure, ensuring that we can continue to provide services, support our community, and maintain our facilities. Just as a strong foundation is crucial for a building, this fund is vital for sustaining and nurturing our ministries’ mission and activities.

The Board is eager to sift through the ideas that were given, and we will be sharing with you next steps as we move forward.

The message on Sunday was “Find the Dream” as we continued with the series Mighty Is the Soaring Spirit. There were five points needed: 1) Find God’s dream for you; 2) Focus on God’s dream for you; 3) Fuel God’s dream for you; 4) Fund God’s dream for you, and 5) Frame God’s dream for you.

Find It: In your mind, envision a blank canvas in front of you. This canvas represents your life.
Allow your dream to come into focus on this canvas.

Focus on It: Now, bring all your attention to this dream. Feel the excitement and joy it brings. Let every detail become vivid in your mind. This is your dream, and it is possible.

Fuel It: Imagine a golden light surrounding your dream, filling it with energy and strength. This light represents your passion and determination. Feel this light fueling your dream, making it grow stronger.

Fund It: Visualize the resources you need to achieve your dream flowing toward you effortlessly. See the support, opportunities, and abundance coming into your life. Trust that everything you need is already on its way.

Your Dream Will Carry a Beautiful Frame: Picture your dream framed beautifully, shining brightly. It is now a part of your life, a reflection of your highest self. Embrace it with gratitude and pride.

Your life shall be a prize to God!

Next week we continue with the series Mighty is The Soaring Spirit and the talk title is “Find the Dreams in Your Gifts.”

I have a request and that is please VOTE! If you have, as I have, thank you!

Know that you are so very loved and appreciated.

You are a blessing in my life,
Rev. Patricia Bessey
