This past weekend was especially noteworthy for me. Saturday was my birthday and then Mother’s Day followed on Sunday. I am not one who plans for their birthday and never has been; however, others around me make sure I am celebrated. To all who sent me cards, text messages, a plant, flowers, and the self-care birthday bag, given to me on Sunday by the amazing folks on the board, thank you for not letting my day go unnoticed.
Unity Center for Spiritual Growth got a write-up in the Windham Eagle this past week. A reporter was at the World Day Labyrinth event and did a story.
Speaking of the labyrinth, join me and others from our community on Saturday for our annual spring cleanup day. It begins at 9 a.m. and will go on until 1 p.m. We will be doing outside as well as inside cleanup. We will be sure that you have something to do when you show up. Our motto is “Many hands make light work.” Come for as long as you can.
Once again, the message on Sunday was a spiritual message with very practical applications. The series is highlighting the book It’s Not Your Money by Tosha Silver. The focus of this chapter is “Deepening”…deepening the five principles shared in the previous chapter.
First: Say the Abundance Prayer daily. She suggests recording it in your own voice and listening to it.
Second: Decluttering. Perfect that we will be having a cleanup day on Saturday.
Third: Fill your mind with positive thoughts. Stop complaining!
Fourth: Cultivate gratitude. Meister Eckhart says: If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough.
Fifth: Easy to receive. Let your mantra be “It’s easy for me to receive.”
Some quotes from the message:
Sufficiency isn’t an amount at all. It is an experience, a context we generate, a declaration, a knowing that there is enough, and we are enough. – Lynne Twist
You can’t water the roses if you’re standing on the garden hose. – Jill Wolk
I experience a deeper consciousness of peace and security, for I know that I am in the embrace of a warm, loving Presence forever seeking an outlet through me. – Ernest Holmes
The Inexhaustible Resource of Spirit is equal to every demand. There is no reality in lack. Abundance is here and now manifest. – Charles Fillmore
As I give thanks for the good now flowing into my life, I gladly share that good with others. The more I give, the more I receive. I experience a deeper consciousness of peace and security, for I know that I am in the embrace of a warm, loving Presence forever seeking an outlet through me. – Ernest Holmes
