Have you felt the shift in the air lately? I sure have. The days are growing shorter, the sleeves a little longer, and there’s that unmistakable whisper of autumn inviting us into a new season. I find myself feeling grateful — grateful to be here, to witness the turning of the wheel once again. There was a time I didn’t see it this way, but with each passing year, I’ve come to cherish these moments more deeply.
And with that awareness comes a gentle question: Have you taken time to reflect on your journey beyond this life? Have you considered how you’d like your final chapter to unfold?
This Saturday, we’re hosting a beautiful and meaningful workshop with Death Doula Jay Allen and his partner Kevin Paul called Conscious Living / Conscious Dying. It’s not just about information; it’s an experience. You’ll be guided to explore your wishes, your legacy, and how you want your final days to be held with intention, grace, and love.
Each of us will have a unique path, and this workshop honors that. Think of it as a gift not only to yourself, but to your loved ones. When they know your heart’s desires, they can support you with clarity and compassion.
Lunch is included, and we’d love to prepare a space just for you. Come with an open heart… and leave with peace, purpose, and a deeper connection to life itself.
Reclaiming Your Divine Identity: A Living Prayer
Today’s message invited us to remember who we truly are — not through words spoken to a distant God, but through the sacred practices that awaken the Divine within us.
Linda Martella-Whitsett reminds us that prayer is not about asking — it’s about claiming. It’s a bold affirmation of our wholeness, our love, and our divinity.
Three Practices to Reclaim Your Divine Identity
1. Affirmative Prayer
Speak truth into your being:
“I am whole. I am love. I am Divine.”
These aren’t words of persuasion—they’re words of remembrance.
2. Silent Communion
Enter the stillness not to escape thought, but to embrace Divine presence.
Let silence be your sanctuary.
As Linda says, “Be still and know.”
3. Spiritual Self-Inquiry
Ask yourself: What would I do today if I truly believed I was Divine?
Let that question shape your choices, your relationships, your prayers.
The Mind as a Patterning System
Building on last week’s insight from Mary Reed, we explored how the mind loops stories of separation and inadequacy—not to harm us, but to protect us. Linda teaches that the mind isn’t our enemy, it’s simply conditioned. And through spiritual practice, we can recondition it. When old stories arise, pause. Breathe.
Affirm: I am not my thoughts. I am the awareness behind them. I am Divine.
Living from the Divine Within
To reclaim your Divine identity is to live as prayer.
It means showing up with compassion, courage, and clarity.
It means trusting the guidance of the Source within you.
It means making every moment a sacred expression of who you truly are.
So, dear ones, as we move through this season together, may we continue to find meaningful ways to connect, grow, and serve. Whether you join us in person, online, or simply in spirit, know that your presence matters. Let’s keep showing up — with open hearts, clear intentions, and the joy of knowing we’re walking this sacred path together.
You are a blessing in my life,
Rev. Patricia Bessey
