Heart Thoughts: Change the Dream

The celebration of Bill Taylor’s 102nd birthday continued during and after the service. During the service, he was presented with a Gold Medal and received the full accolades of an Olympian champion. Notably, this year’s Summer Olympics will be held in France, marking the first time France has hosted the event in one hundred years. Bill Taylor, who could have been there as a two-year-old during the last French-hosted Olympics, was honored. After the service, attendees gathered in Fellowship Hall to enjoy a slice of birthday cake, commemorating this extraordinary occasion.

Additionally, energy is building as bids are posted for the Silent Auction, which includes many items. The auction will close on July 14,  following the Park and Sell Extravaganza on Saturday, July 13. If you haven’t secured your parking space yet, consider doing so this week. Payment options include Venmo, PayPal, or in-person payment on Sunday.

As we continue with The Soul of Money this week we visited Guatemala, Ecuador and Peru. Our author Lynne Twist was called to work with the Achuar tribe to help save their land after they had a dream of an oncoming threat to the rainforest.

The long-term plan that Lynne had was she would always be involved with the Hunger Project. That took an unexpected turn and, as a result, the Pachamama Alliance was born. That was in 1996 and in 2021 the organization celebrated 25 years and the commitment to the partnership with the Achuar and other indigenous communities in the Amazon rainforest is still going strong.

Change the dream, change the vision.

Romans 12:2 – Be ye transformed by the renewal of your mind. Attention follows intention and where we put our attention is where our Energy goes…

We are consistently working on practicing the Unity principles … and transforming our lives. So what is needed to change the dream and discover our true purpose?

Self-Reflection: Begin by looking inward. Reflect on your values, passions, and what brings you joy. This can help you understand what you truly desire in life.

Mindfulness: Practice mindfulness to develop self-awareness. Mindfulness can help you become more attuned to your thoughts and feelings, allowing you to recognize what resonates with your core self.

Exploration: Engage in different experiences and activities. Trying new things can spark inspiration and lead you to discover interests that align with your purpose.

Community: Surround yourself with people who inspire you. Building a community of supportive individuals can provide encouragement and new perspectives on your journey.

Vision Statement: Craft a personal vision statement. This can serve as a compass, guiding you towards actions and decisions that align with your purpose.

Mentorship: Seek out mentors who embody the values and purpose you aspire to. They can offer guidance, wisdom, and support as you navigate your path.

Action: Take proactive steps toward your dreams. This might involve setting goals, creating a plan, and taking consistent action to move closer to your purpose.

If you would like to join me in creating your vision and mission statement, reach out, and if there is interest enough, I will lead us through the process.

“I am a vessel of transformation and purpose. With every breath, I affirm my commitment to my true path and the collective journey towards healing and growth. I trust in the unfolding of my life’s mission, knowing that each step I take is guided by the wisdom of the universe and the support of my community.”

Remember, finding your purpose is not a destination but a continuous process of growth and evolution.

If you missed the service, you can watch it here.

Next week as we continue with The Soul of Money, it will be “Taking a Stand.”

Know that you are so very loved and appreciated.

You are a blessing in my life,
Rev. Patricia Bessey
