Heart Thoughts: An Exciting Time to Be

The best of me to be in 2023… what a great slogan that is for each of us. I have mentioned before that I am learning about astrology and in listening to the predictions for 2023, I am hearing it is a time for each of us to stand in our truth. It is a time when the old structures are crumbling, and the power is coming back to the people. It is important that we are ready for this change, and it requires us to go within and do a thorough search of our beliefs and let go of what no longer serves. It is an exciting time to be on this planet.

In looking at the old structures we must include in this ministry and more precisely Unity Center for Spiritual Growth. In December the Board of Trustees and I met for a half-day retreat and during this time we laid out plans for 2023. These plans include structural changes in how we as a leadership operate. Each board member has selected an area of the ministry they have an affinity to and will take on a more visible role. What this means for me is that I am freed up to apply more time to Sunday morning, classes, and events. What it means for you is they are the point person if you have questions or ideas in a particular area. Seek them out and share your thoughts.

Matt Purinton will continue to be the point person for Building and Grounds.

Betti Lu Lewis will be supporting the Youth and Family Ministry.

Pastoral Care will be supported by Barbara Kowalska and Jack Cole.

Finances will be supported by Michelle Neas, our treasurer.

Adult Education will be supported by me, Janice Murphy, and Kim Cowperthwaite.

Special Events and Special Programs will be supported by Sue Vittner and Kim Cowperthwaite.

Social Media will be handled by Mari and supported by me.

Gardening will be supported by Janice Murphy.

What I also have learned about 2023 is it is a time for connection and community. If you have been standing on the sidelines of this community wondering whether it is time to get more involved, I say now is the best time to jump in.

Let us wholeheartedly welcome 2023 and together we can do so much more to spiritually transform our world.

Join me this Sunday for our popular ritual, “The White Stone Ceremony.”

You are a blessing in my life,
Rev. Patricia Bessey

P.S.: Just a reminder to take care and pay attention to what your body is telling you. If you feel great join us in person, if you don’t feel so great join us online.
