I have so much to share with you this week! First, I’m thrilled to begin my 14th year with this wonderful community. Since starting on August 7, 2011, it’s been full speed ahead. Your kindness and love have been incredible, and together we’ve achieved so much. You’ve supported me through tough times, especially with the passing of my mother in 2012 and Rev. LeRoy in 2022.
We’ve taken great care of our home, which speaks volumes to those visiting for the first time. As homeowners at 54 River Road, we take pride in our property.
If you haven’t yet, I encourage you to check out the backyard garden. The dedicated group tending to it is committed to sharing the harvest with both our community and the Windham Food Pantry. Please refrain from picking anything directly, but feel free to take veggies available in Fellowship Hall.
Another exciting project is the restoration of the labyrinth. It’s getting a makeover, thanks to the efforts of Elizabeth Peterson, Cali Crowley, and Deana Gurney, who organized the Unity’s Got Talent event last Friday night. The proceeds from this event, along with those from the Trunk Sale, Silent Auction, and Labyrinth Grant, have brought us close to raising what is needed to complete this phase.
On Sunday I began a new series called Words of Wisdom. The first lesson in the series is Words to Live By. There were three main principles, and they were 1) Know What to Pay Attention To; 2) Place A High Value On Time; 3) Know What Matters Most.
Each of these principles offer practical steps to embracing the wisdom within. Here is the affirmation to go with this lesson:
I am present at this moment, fully aware of its significance. I honor my time by focusing on what truly matters, letting go of distractions.
This Sunday we welcome Julie Thompson, our dear friend from Wisconsin. Julie will be sharing both music and the message, Won’t You Be My Neighbor? Look forward to seeing you.
