Heart Thoughts: A Vision for 2026

Happy New Year’s Eve Day!

As one door closes, another opens and that’s exactly what we’re experiencing right now. We’re saying goodbye to 2025 and opening our hearts to the wonder and awe of what 2026 will bring.

Although we shared the Burning Bowl service on Sunday, if you’d like to experience it today as part of your New Year’s Eve ritual, you can view the service and follow the process.

I also want to share a little story from Sunday. In the 14 years I’ve been here at Unity, our beloved music director, Deana, has rarely missed a service unexpectedly. But this past Sunday, the flu got the best of her. On Friday afternoon, I received the text she didn’t want to send that she couldn’t make it and didn’t have the energy to record music for us.

After about five minutes of “What are we going to do?” Spirit stepped in. My good friend and colleague, Ryan Polly, popped into my mind. Ryan can play the piano and sing, and when I asked if he could help, he didn’t hesitate. He, along with Cali Crowley and Don Labbe, gave their all and it was wonderful!

It was such a beautiful reminder that when one door closes, another opens. Spirit is always working on our behalf to meet every need. Here’s to a new year filled with open doors, unexpected blessings, and the joy of knowing we are never alone.

The Vision I Hold for 2026

Imagine a community where love leads, wisdom guides, and service transforms lives. That’s the vision I hold for Unity Center for Spiritual Growth as we step into 2026.

I see us as a vibrant spiritual home where every person feels seen, valued, and supported on their journey. A place where we grow together through inspiring services, transformative classes, and practices that awaken inner wisdom. And beyond our walls, I envision us reaching into the greater community—partnering, serving, and sharing the principles of Unity in ways that bring hope and healing.

This vision is bold yet simple: to be a beacon of spiritual light, radiating love and possibility into every heart and every home we touch.

I believe this vision is possible because of you, your presence, your prayers, and your willingness to share your gifts. Let’s create it together. In the coming weeks, we’ll explore ways, big and small, that each of us can help bring this vision to life, because your ideas, your energy, and your participation truly matter.

I invite you to hold this vision with me and begin imagining what’s possible when we join hearts and hands to make it real. What possibilities do you see for our community? I’d love to hear your thoughts and dreams as we step into 2026 with openness, excitement, and a shared sense of purpose. Together, we can create something extraordinary.

Join me next Sunday for our White Stone Ritual.

As we step into this new season together, let’s keep leaning into what makes our community so special—connection, growth, and shared purpose. Whether you’re with us in person, online, or holding us in prayer, know this: you are an essential part of the journey.

Every conversation, every act of kindness, every moment of spiritual practice adds to the beautiful mosaic we’re creating. So, let’s keep showing up with open hearts, curious minds, and the joy of knowing we’re building something extraordinary together. Here’s to a year of deepening, expanding, and shining our light in ways that matter.

You are a blessing in my life,

Rev. Patricia Bessey
