The Light of Life: The Power of Animation, Vitality, and Presence

Sunday Message by Rev. Pat Bessey

Happy Halloween! Thank goodness for Halloween – all of a sudden, cobwebs in my house are decorations! This is a kind of a joke, but can you relate?

boy with clockThis Saturday is the end of daylight savings time. Remember to turn your clocks back before going to bed Saturday night.

This past Sunday we concluded the series using the book Divine Audacity. The talk title was “The Light of Life: The Power of Animation, Vitality and Presence.”

Life, as one of Unity’s Twelve Powers, is not to be confused with human life, as it is a principle and a spiritual ability. As a spiritual principle it has no limits or finite existence.

Animation is the forward, onward, and upward impulse of life. It is consciousness and intention that directs the life force. A+L+E: where your attention is… your love is… that’s where your energy is. So, when our attention – our consciousness – is focused on love, wisdom, faith, prayer, meditation, then our life out pictures these qualities. Animating power of life doesn’t happen to us. We wield the power.

Vitality is our ability to have energy and to thrive. Wholeness is our true nature – which means nothing is missing. We are complete; we didn’t show up as a jigsaw puzzle missing a few pieces. No matter what the physical condition, we are whole, well, and complete. We use spiritual eyes to detect vitality, especially when someone appears to be less than whole.

Life energy manifests first as ANIMATION, secondly as VITALITY, and third as PRESENCE. When we are expressing ANIMATION, VITALITY, and PRESENCE, it lifts up those around us. The stronger we become in this expression, the more we become conquerors of our life experience.
