Heart Thoughts: Proof of God

Sometimes it is a little challenging to decide where I want to go with this message. There are many things that I could highlight. I will start with the most current and that is the return of the women’s group. I am excited to be having the first group on Thursday evening at 6:30. My hope is that this will be a place for women to get support in the many areas of life that can be stressful. It is nice to know you have others holding the high watch for you. This is also a time to celebrate the victories that may be happening to you. I know I don’t celebrate myself enough. I don’t think I am alone in that either. So I look forward to seeing you at 6:30 Thursday evening. Bring a sister, girlfriend, or coworker. We all need each other at this time on the planet.

Rev. Jim Rosemergy

Well did we ever have a message on Sunday that is still reverberating in me. My friends and colleague Rev. Jim and Nancy Rosemergy were with us as they are making their way to Bar Harbor. Jim has been a Unity minister since 1976 and he has served the Unity movement in so many ways. He is the author of 16 books and has another one getting ready to be born.

Jim’s message on Sunday was Proof of God. We journeyed with him through his evolution and growing understanding of Presence, God, Divine Love, whatever name you use for the power behind all that is. Two words that Jim expounded on were curiosity and desire. He also talked about consciousness and that God is consciousness ever expanding and we are made in the image and after the likeness, so we too are ever-expanding consciousness. He then talks about Jesus saying we must become as a little child and what little children have is an insatiable curiosity. The “why” questions. They have a sense of wonder and awe… they are expressing God.

Jim gave us his definition of God that works for him today and its acronym is EEC, which stands for Ever Expanding Consciousness. This supports something I read a long time ago that stopped me in my tracks and, quite honestly, I couldn’t wrap my mind around it then; however, I can now. It was that God is still growing. That is the ever-expanding consciousness.

Jim challenges the word Omniscient, which means “All-Knowing,” and if consciousness is ever expanding it isn’t all-knowing. He then brings in the word desire. DE is of, from or above and SIRE is father. The word desire means of the Father from above. Our desires are transcendent, and something is moving in us and that is God. So curiosity and desire are pivotal to our spiritual development.

I will leave it here for you to review again or listen to it if you missed it on Sunday.

Join me next week as we pick up once again from the book It’s Not Your Money by Tosha
Silver and the chapter title is The Crown Jewels.

Thank you to everyone who brought food for the potluck and to all who set it up and cleaned it up. You are my heroes.

You are a blessing in my life,
Rev. Patricia Bessey
