Sunday Chair Yoga Class

An event every month that begins at 11:30 am on day Third of the month, repeating until March 19, 2023
On the third Sunday of each month, immediately after the Sunday service, with Catherine Escamilla on the second and fourth Saturdays, 11:30 a.m. Cost: $15 per class.
This chair yoga class is completely adaptive, meaning everything is adjusted for the group participating in yoga. No experience is needed. While yoga is often seen as a trendy exercise for the young, fit and flexible; it is actually a therapeutic modality appropriate for everyone regardless of their age, weight or level of fitness.
What is included in a 1-hour class:
- Warm-up exercises
- Gentle yoga poses (in a chair)
- Guided meditation

Catherine Escamilla has been a student of yoga for 18 years, attending various studios and creating a routine at-home practice. In 2020 she took her practice to a more consistent level with an online yoga teacher training with My Vinyasa Practice in Austin, TX. Since this training, everything changed and she knew introducing others to various forms of yoga was an important step to adding balance to our lives.
Catherine enjoys working with students of all levels with a gentle flow Hatha class, Yin, Restorative, Chair Yoga, and Yoga Nidra. She is also certified in Reiki Level 2, Yoga for Anxiety and Trauma-Informed Yoga. Catherine loves to incorporate positive affirmations into her work and classes to create a positive and accessible yoga practice.
Born and raised in South Portland, Catherine enjoys time spent in nature at the beach and local parks with her family.
